What is Declassified?

Declassify /dēˈklasəˌfī/ (verb): officially declare (information or documents) to be no longer secret.

In the art world, there’s always more than what meets the eye. We’re here to uncover stories and truths as we work to demystify this complex industry for those who want to work in the creative world, and those who just want to learn.

Access lies at the heart of our mission. We amplify as many voices as we can, featuring artists, collectors, curators, advisors, historians, and entrepreneurs, listening as they tell us what it’s like to walk in their shoes.

Who is Declassified?

As undergraduates, we are uniquely positioned between the academic and professional worlds. We are young, yes, and inexperienced - sure. But those might be the best things about us. We are curious, receptive, and we ask the real questions. Listen as we get the answers for you straight from the source.

Parker Matthews (he/him)

A fourth-year student at New York University, Parker is majoring in Art History and minoring in Chinese. He has lived on both coasts (Boston, Santa Barbara, and NYC) and is a middle child in a family of four. During his time at NYU, Parker has worn many hats: working as a yoga instructor, an intern at Superblue, an NYU Undergraduate Admissions tour guide, a host at a restaurant, and now on a podcast. While balancing school, attending gallery openings and visiting as many museums as possible, he is excited to share his love for art and learn alongside all of our listeners about the art world, with his longtime friend Georgia.

Georgia Gardner (she/her)

Georgia is a fourth-year Stanford University undergraduate double majoring in Art History and International Relations. Born and raised in San Francisco surrounded by culture and creativity, she has always been captivated by the arts. Since matriculating at Stanford, she has served several years as a tour guide and published writer in the two art museums on campus, worked in Communications at EWG, PlanetHome, and for a local art advisory, Upstart Modern. She loves to read, write, sing, dance, and chat and is ecstatic about the opportunity to work with her friend Parker on Declassified.

Christy Maclear (she/her)

Christy is Declassified’s executive producer: helping remove hurdles and open doors for the podcast’s success. Her belief is that clear nomenclature and pathways for everyone to enter the field are two important ways to ensure equity and diversity. She has been the first CEO for SUPERBLUE, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the Philip Johnson Glass House. She has never had a job which existed before.

Olivia Blaisdell (she/her)

Olivia Blaisdell is a Boston-based, multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography, videography, dance, and pole dance. Across all mediums, she borrows aspects of her personal identity as a queer, female-identifying, Asian-American woman, to highlight underrepresented voices in her communities.
